The Glen Cove Community Association is a nonprofit corporation staffed entirely by Glen Cove Resident volunteers. The GCCA exists to promote and maintain the quality of life and high standards of municipal services in Glen Cove; to insure safety and security; the quality of schools, parks and local businesses; to encourage the enforcement of the CC&R's in order to protect and enhance property values; and to foster social and recreational opportunities among our neighborhoods.
The GCCA relies on Membership dues, donations and Newsletter advertising revenue to provide community services such as the Glen Cove Newsletter and the Glen Cove Website. A financially sound GCCA is in a position to provide these and other services to the community, and we need your help to do that.
The GCCA works on your behalf by:
- Keeping informed about City issues, trends, developments and information that may affect Glen Cove and its residents.
- Representing the interests of Glen Cove and communicating with the City Council, when necessary
- Acting as a liaison between Glen Cove residents and city departments such as fire and police
- Working with the City when landscaping and/or maintenance issues arise
- Enforcing neighborhood CC&R's
- Holding public meetings each quarter to inform residents of current issues and provide a forum for questions or concerns
- Holding monthly boardmember meetings to discuss and resolve neighborhood issues
- Communicating with Glen Cove residents when issues arise
- Managing all matters relating to tax, finance, insurance and the business of running a nonprofit California corporation
- Publishing the Glen Cove Newsletter and the glencovevallejo.com website
All this work is done by just a small number of resident volunteers, and the time they spend is their own personal time; above and beyond the time they spend at their regular jobs or personal life. Much of the effort goes on behind the scenes, and you can read about some of our efforts and progress with certain issues in the Glen Cove Newsletter.
With very little effort you can become a part of the work that goes on to maintain and improve your neighborhood and Glen Cove as a whole. You will have a direct impact on your neighborhood by joining the Glen Cove Community Association. This is YOUR association, and it exists for your benefit and the benefit of all that reside in Glen Cove.
Considering the size of Glen Cove, your membership dues of just $20 per household per year (less than $2 per month) will significantly improve the ability of the GCCA to carry out its mission, as well as increase the quantity and quality of services Glen Cove residents receive. The GCCA is not an HOA, but considering most homeowner's associations charge anywhere from $200 or $300 per month and up, $20 per year to join your community association is an amazing bargain. One of the primary goals of the GCCA is to maintain property values over time. Considering the potential return to homeowners, there is simply no better investment one could make in their home. If you've ever been concerned about issues regarding:
- Community landscaping maintenance
- Crime such as graffiti, speeding vehicles, or vagrancy
- CC&R enforcement of issues such as illegal business use of a home, unsightly or unkept homes or property, construction not adhering to neighborhood architectural standards, noise, illegal activity, etc.
- Issues with the police or fire department such as delayed response time or lack of response when called
- Any other neighborhood issue
...then we strongly recommend you join the GCCA. Your membership dues allow us to deal with these and any other issues as they arise. We have a significant membership base already, but we need your help! You can help in any of the following three ways:
Become a member. Your membership dues will strengthen your community association.
Donate to the GCCA. The GCCA is a nonprofit corporation, and all money collected is directed back into the community in the form of supplies, maintenance, and other programs that improve the quality of our neighborhood, and the quality of life for residents in Glen Cove.
Volunteer your time. If you have some extra time, any amount of time, we'd love to hear from you! Feel free to contact any of the development representatives for more information.
Sincerely, The members of the Glen Cove Community Association
